I was looking for nice font to make a logo. I wanted to stick to free and/or open fonts. I have found several options:
- Bitstream Vera – fonts released on open source license by Bitstream
- DejaVu – a font family based on Bitstream Vera family. It includes additional Unicode characters. Since I use Eastern Europe character set it is default font on my desktop.
- Freefonts – font package from Gimp
I have also found a nice tool to browse through the fonts: The Font Viewer – a GTK1 based application. It is not a perfect one but it allows to create a font overview with chosen text.
